SuperBetter is a small business with big dreams. Our aspiration is to unlock the heroic potential of millions of youth and young adults around the world. Making our product accessible to as many people as possible is integral to our mission, and a reflection of our values.
As a small business, our commitment to accessibility is a journey that will be implemented over time as resources permit.
The first phase is to bring SuperBetter to people around the world in a way that is financially accessible and scalable. This phase began with the launch of Squad Play. With Squad Play, educators can pay a low subscription fee to host challenges that positively impact their students. Students can play these squad challenges on a free Player account. For those who want to play SuperBetter on their own, the cost of a Hero account is approximately one-third (or less) than that of other credible, science-backed mental wellbeing apps.
SuperBetter is also available in formats for people without access to mobile or web-based technologies. The SuperBetter book, which explains how to play SuperBetter without the app, is available in print and audio versions. A free SuperBetter curriculum is available for educators who serve students in low-resource schools.
Squad Play is early in its product lifecycle. It is available as a website in addition to the mobile app, and our demo videos to explain the product include closed captioning.
Our long term goal is to make our mobile and web products more accessible for every person, regardless of their visual, auditory, cognitive, or motor abilities, and to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (W3C WCAG) Version 2.1 Level AA requirements to the maximum extent possible.
We are constantly looking for ways to make our products more accessible and ensure we’re operating according to our mission and values. We welcome your feedback.
